This Knowledge article steps you through how to remove and recreate any plan you have embedded within the Teams application. 

1. Removing an App

  • Open Microsoft Teams: Launch the Teams desktop app or web version (https://teams.microsoft.com).
  • Go to the Appropriate Team and Channel: Click the Team and Channel where the plan or app is embedded.
  • Locate the Tab: At the top of the channel, locate the tab (e.g., “Planner”, “Tasks by Planner”, or “To Do”).

  • Click the down arrow (∨) next to the tab’s name.
  • Select Remove or Remove this tab.

  • Confirm removal if prompted.

  • Warning: Removing the tab does not delete the underlying plan or tasks; it only removes the shortcut from Teams.

    2. Adding a New Planner/To Do/Project for the Web Tab

    • Click the “+” (Add a tab) Icon: At the top of your channel, next to the existing tabs.

  • Select “Planner” and a list of available apps will appear. Find and click Planner.

  • Click Use an existing plan.

  • A list of available plans for this Team/Group will appear.
  • Select the desired plan.

  • Finish Setup: The tab will be added, showing the selected plan within your Teams channel.
