Create a New Project
To create a new Project, click the button on the Active Projects page. Alternatively, navigate to the relevant Programme and click the New PF Project button (in which case the Programme field will be auto-filled).
You now need to fill in the key details of the new Project.
As you can see at the top, your newly created Project is in the first stage of the Project life cycle (0. Idea in this example).
Click one of these buttons to save the Project:
Maintaining a Project
To edit an existing Project, find it in the All Projects list and double-click to the left of it (or click once to select and click Edit at the top).
To update, use the menu options at the top:
Use as follows:
Save and stay on the page.
Save and return to the Project list.
Save this screen, then create another new Project.
Deactivate this Project (will disappear from Active Projects view and be removed from reporting – can re-activate at any time).
Physically delete this Project – WARNING, this cannot be reversed. |
Rest assured that your updates will be saved even when not clicking a Save button, e.g. when navigating to any of the sub-registers (see Maintaining Project Sub-Registers) or even when clicking the Back button .
Deleting a Project
Deleting a Project is NOT recommended, in general day to day operations. If you no longer need the details of a Project it is recommended to use Deactivate rather than Delete.
By using the Delete option, the Project and all associated records are physically deleted from the database and cannot easily be recovered. Whereas, using the Deactivate option will allow you to restore the Project using the Activate option from the appropriate Projects view e.g. Inactive Projects.
"Record Set" Navigation
You can easily jump from Project to Project with one click by using Record Sets.
Access an individual Project and navigate to the form or sub-register you wish to work with. Now click in the top left.
This will open up a sidebar of Projects that were shown in the Project view you came from (with any filters you had applied). You can now navigate to any of those Projects with one click.
For example, in the below screen we navigated to the Risk log of a Project and exposed the Record Set on the left-clicking on any of the Projects shown will allow us to jump between their Risk logs with one click.
