Power Framework is a business application created by Program Framework to manage innovation, Projects, Programmes, and Portfolios. It is a “model-driven” Power App, a key component of the Microsoft Power Platform and provides a rich user experience similar to Microsoft’s own Dynamics 365 business applications.

“Model-Driven” means that the Power Framework app uses a metadata-driven architecture so that customisations can be developed without writing computer code. (See the Microsoft Documentation page here).

Model-driven apps store all tables and settings in the Microsoft Dataverse database.

All IP relating to Power Framework remains with Program Framework.

Microsoft Power Platform

The Microsoft Power Platform is a collective term for these cloud services:

All data is stored in Microsoft Dataverse, the Power Platform’s built-in database.

These services all run in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing service platform.

Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 business applications are built on the same platform, so Power Framework uses the same user experience, security, and architectural design as Microsoft Dynamics 365.

This provides many advantages over traditional bespoke application development, which include:

  • Tried and tested user interface

The Power Apps Platform supports millions of users across the world using the Microsoft Dynamics Unified Interface and is well supported by Microsoft Partners.

  • Mature customisation platform

The Dynamics 365 platform has been offered since 2005 and is proven with over 40,000 customers worldwide.

  • Highly scalable service

All Microsoft cloud-based technologies are massively scalable by design.

  • A standard software solution delivery process

Where the applications can be designed, developed, tested, and then delivered as software solutions.

  • A platform for secure integration

Your software applications can be easily and securely integrated with other Microsoft applications, such as Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Project, Planner as well as the Dynamics 365 Business applications.

  • Power Platform and AI

The Power Platform is developing quickly in the area of Artificial Intelligence to improve software intelligence in the future.

  • Fast software development

In addition to traditional Model-driven applications such as Power Framework, there are strong capabilities to enable the development of “Canvas” apps aimed at mobile and tablet-based users.

  • Regularly updated and fully supported

Cloud platforms support is direct with Microsoft.

  • Power Framework

Power Framework is supported by Program Framework under a support agreement that includes incremental updates and lifecycle management. Additional features can be designed to support specific business requirements.
