Requirement for a Power Framework Support Account
The customer will ensure that the Program Framework consultant has access to the Customer’s Microsoft 365 tenant through an account that will be used to deploy and manage the app on a regular basis. This account can be activated by the customer when update operations or support events are scheduled.
The account will require the following licenses to be assigned at minimum:
- Power App Plan 1
- Power BI Pro
- Outlook (email for Flow testing)
- Power Automate Premium
To activate the following integrations the application will require the associated additional licenses:
- Planner integration: Planner and Team license
- Teams integration: Teams license
- DevOps integration: DevOps license
- SharePoint Integration: SharePoint license
- Project for the Web integration: Project Plan 1
- Project Online integration: Project Plan 3
This account will require the following permissions:
- Admin access to the newly created Power Apps environment.
- SharePoint Site collection admin for the site collection that will hold the connected document library.
- Power BI Workspace Admin for the Power BI Workspace that we are going to deploy the Power BI Dataset, Reports and App into.
Microsoft Platform Licenses
The customer is required to purchase full Microsoft licensing.
The following Microsoft cloud licenses need to be considered:
- Power Framework app users:
These users only maintain Project data with Power Framework (typically PMO and Project Managers).
Microsoft Power Apps (see here) – offers a choice of ‘per app’ or ‘per user’. As Power Framework is a single Power App the ‘per app’ license is sufficient.
- For report authors and consumers:
Microsoft Power BI Pro (standard licensing requirement, see here).
For organisations utilising Power BI Premium, Power BI Premium capacity should be allocated to the Workspace for the Power Framework reports.
- Dataverse storage (formerly Common Data Service):
Customers may need to purchase additional data storage space (at Tenant level, not related to users).
For a detailed Power Platform licensing guide, see here. This is a link to general Microsoft Documentation.
Licensing for connected work management/Project tools (e.g. Project Online, Project for the Web) is also the responsibility of the customer.
Power Framework Support Team
The Program Framework team will require a single point of contact for all accessibility and account concerns.
Refer to Support Contract for further information about support services, covering the initial Project phases and then through to the ongoing support services in the life of Power Framework.
Power App Administration
The Customer’s Tenant Power App administrator will review and maintain the usage, statistics, health, and performance of the Power Framework app. This will ensure that the Power Framework Power App is not compromised with data storage concerns or performance.
The Power Apps administration centre lists all environments, apps, usage, and statistics as well as highlighting any quota concerns that may be impacting performance.
