Introducing Business Units
Business Units can be used to map the hierarchy of your organisation for the purpose of risk management.
For each Business Unit, a risk owner can be defined. Each unit will manage its own risks and can view its own risk register (as a subset of the overall risk register).
This structure can drive an escalation process whereby a risk is escalated (passing ownership) to the Business Unit above the one currently owning the risk.
This structure can also drive security controls, whereby members of a Business Unit can be limited to just seeing the risks owned by their own unit.
