When a timesheet is submitted, it may require approval by a Timesheet Manager. This is controlled via the Timesheet Settings of the timesheet user's Team Member record. This article explains how a Timesheet Manager will approve or reject the timesheet.
Accessing Timesheet Approval
Click on the Approval link within the Timesheet area of the system.
The system will display a timesheet that is awaiting your approval (positioning to the oldest timesheet period).
Navigating Timesheets Awaiting Approval
Click on the Period and/or Team Member fields at the top, these will show drop-down value lists matching the timesheet(s) that are awaiting your approval. Select Period/Team Member to pick a specific timesheet.
A timesheet shown here cannot be updated by you, other than approving or rejecting it.
Approving/Rejecting Timesheet
Click either Approve or Reject at the top of the screen.
A confirmation window will be displayed allowing you to leave a comment which will be displayed in the Notes area of the timesheet header next time the timesheet is viewed. Click Yes to complete the process.
Impact of Approval
The timesheet status will change to Approved. The timesheet actual time and resulting resource actual cost will be posted to the project, and are then visible to the project owner as described in this article.
Impact of Rejection
The timesheet status will change to Rejected. The timesheet submitter must now recall the timesheet, correct it and submit it again.
