Once you have created a model, you are ready to manipulate projects to see impact on the data.
This article explains the Modelling screen, which is where 'what-if' simulations are applied with instant view of impact on financial and resource data.
Introducing the Modelling Screen
Click on the Modelling Tab to see this screen, which is divided into an upper and lower section:
The top half of the screen lists the project selected for this model, showing their timelines as defined by the project start and finish dates. You can click on these projects and perform various actions to simulate conditions, such us dragging the project to the right to simulate a later start that currently defined (as explained in this article).
The lower section shows either Investment or Resource Demand data (switch between these using the tabs in the top left). Various sub-tabs are shown that you can pick to view data in various ways. Relevant data in the lower section is being recalculated instantly in response to manipulations of projects in the top section.
Pop-up to maximise screen space
In the top right corner of the lower section you find the Pop-up button .
Click on it to open the Modelling screen in another tab, with the screen header reduced to make more space (hiding non-essential navigation and menu buttons). Close the Pop-up screen (using the Close button at the top) in order to return to full screen in order to save the model, use other buttons or navigate to other tabs.
Column selector
Click Config in the top right to reveal a selection panel, to hide/unhide columns from the project list. You can also select 'Group by Programme' to show projects in programme groupings.
Filters
Click Filters to the right of either top or bottom section to apply filters as required.
