The records below will be set up on first deployment of the Power Framework application and will require periodic maintenance.
Reporting Periods
Reporting Periods define the periods of time that Project Status Updates will refer to, added by project managers within their projects.
As such they define how frequently Project and Programme Managers are supposed to submit status reports for their project/programme.
Maintain the date ranges to match your Project reporting cycle:
Field | Comment |
Period Name |
Name the reporting period so that it can be clearly identified by its name. This is important as the project manager will select it via this name. Example: “2023 - Week 22 (29/5/2023 - 4/6/2023)” The combination of Year, Week No. and Date Range in the name ensures that reporting periods are sorted correctly and provides a full indication of the period it represents. |
Period Start/Finish | Start and Finish Dates – required so that the period can be reported correctly. |
Year/Month | Year and Month of the period - required so that the period can be reported correctly. |
Week Number | If this is a weekly period, then enter the week number. |
Status | “Active” by default, which means it can be selected by a project manager for a status report. Set to “Inactive” to close this period, no further status reports can now be entered for it. |
Project Document Standards
This parameter table stores rules defining the standard control documents you expect to be on file and their expected approval status, for different project tracks and stages.
Based on the rules you set up, you will be able to report on documents that are either missing or have an insufficient approval status.
Note that you will first have to set up the Content Type record elsewhere in the Administration section before you can use it here.
The Project Document Standard record is set up as follows:
Field | Comment |
Project Track |
Select the track that this document rule should relate to. |
Project Stage | Select the stage that this rule should relate to. |
Content Type | Shows the list of standard documents that are defined – select the document type that you want to make mandatory for this Project Track and Stage. |
Document Status | Shows the list of approval status values defined – select the approval status that you want to make mandatory for this Project Track, Stage and Content Type. |
Milestone Templates
Milestone templates are used when the integration to Microsoft Planner is implemented. Based on the list you set up here, default tasks will be created on the Planner board for the project when the board is first created.
Add a record in this list for each default task to be created in the Planner board:
Field | Comment |
Name | Name of the task. |
Milestone Type | Select the type of milestone that should be applied to this milestone in the Power Framework milestone register of the respective project. |
